South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut

On this day in 1999, the award winning movie, South Park: Bigger Longer & Uncut was released.  A movie full of profanity about sneaking into a movie full of profanity! But how could you not love the four boys from South Park?  Voiced by their creators, Trey Parker (Stan and Cartman) and Matt Stone (Kyle and Kenny), the boys from South Park  experienced as much big screen success as they have had on TV and virtually every other medium there is.
Parker and Stone met in film school at the University of Colorado and collaborated on The Spirit of Christmas (aka Jesus vs. Frosty) an early precursor to South Park. In this paper cut-out animated short, Parker and Stone introduced us to four boys who resemble current day Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny.  As a follow-up to this 1992 short, Parker and Stone made a video Christmas card in 1995, entitled Jesus vs. Santa, for an Executive at Fox. With improved animation and more refined versions of Cartman, Stan, Kyle and Kenny, this short was widely distributed, becoming one of the first viral videos. The South Park series grew from there…

Check out this YouTube video of Jesus vs. Frosty and see how much the South Park boys have “matured” in the past 17 years!
